Alex Khattab was born on the 14th of June 1965 in Nawa, a city in Southern Syria. He is married to a Greek Cypriot, and since 1992 he resides and works in Cyprus.
He studied Fine Arts at the University of Damascus 1983 – 1989, under Fateh al- Moudarres, Nather Nabaa and Chozaima Elwani.
During his studies he concentrated on painting in oils with a bold and free use of colour, and distinguished himself in conceiving and completing his works ala prima in minimal time. He also worked with print making and drawing caricatures.
His caricatures were published in the biggest newspapers and magazines of Egypt.
He worked in Syria as an Art Teacher where he had four solo and numerous group exhibitions. These exhibitions were followed by one in Egypt 1993, and twelve in Cyprus 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2009, and 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016.
His works hang in Organizations and private collections in Cyprus, Europe, Arab countries, and other parts of the world.
