BIOGRAPHY
Pambos Mihlis was born in Achna,district of Famagusta in 1947.
Education
At the age of 20 he moved to Famagusta where he set up his first studio.
Exhibitions
Ηis first solo exhibition was at the Lykeion Ellinidon 1969 and his most recent at Diachroniki Gallery of Nicosia. Since the Turkish invasion of 1974 he has lived and worked in Limassol. In 1980 he started the Art Workshop, along with Xenia Panteli and others, where local and foreign artists have worked from time to time.
This marked the artist’s involvement with materials and sculpture.
With the opening of his own workshop in 1985 ,creating art in the form of paintings and sculpture is his only occupation.
He has taken part in more than 35 group and solo exhibitions in Cyprus, and in 1987 he exhibited in London along with Toulla Mala and Demetris Mihlis.
His latest major creation, commissioned by the Municipality of Paralimni, is the Monument of the Refugees at his Birthplace Achna, which took more than three years to complete.
His works are found in many private collections and Institutions of Cyprus and abroad.
